About Ammon Hoke Smith
Ammon H. Smith, 67, died Saturday noon of a heart attack at his home, 295 Ebenezer Road. Smith was the sales representative in Lebanon, Dauphin and Berks Counties for the Penn Insulation Company of Reading. He was a member of the Young Men's Bible Class of Salem Evangelical United Brethren Sunday School; Mt. Olivet Lodge 704, F. and AM; Valley of Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Shrine; Quittapahilla Forest 25, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and the Lebanon County Shrine Club. He also held membership in the Royal Men's Club, the American Legion, Annville post; Ebenezer Fire Company; Good will Fire Company, Myerstown, and Perseverance Fire Company, Jonestown, and Post E, Travelers Protective Association. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Walmer Smith, Reading, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a son of the late Ezra and Amanda Hoke Smith. [Lebanon Daily News, Monday August 16, 1965]
