Shelbyville News, Thur., Oct. 29, 1964
St. Paul resident, Amos M. Dodds, 89, died at 6:45 a.m. today in Major Hospital, where he had been admitted Wednesday. He had been in failing health for several years and died of a heart condition.
A lifelong Shelby County resident who had been a painter and interior decorator, Mr. Dodds was born in Noble Twp., the son of John and Mary (Dilts) Dodds.
On February 7, 1921 he married Florence Kanouse, who survives with two sons, Rollin M. Dodds of St.Paul and Edward D. Dodds of Greensburg, and a stepson, Kenneth Kanouse of Sharpsville. Other survivors include three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Dodds was the last of a family of eight children (this should be 11 children.)
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carmony Funeral Home in St.Paul with the Rev. S.E. Morgan of the St.Paul Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Paul Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.
Note: One sister not yet linked is Cora J. born in 1864 OH.; 1st married a Shuppert abt.1862 probably in Shelby Co.,IN. & had 2 daughters, Lola & Mabel; in 1900 Census-living in St. Paul, Shelby Co., was divorced & was a hotel keeper. By 1910 she was remarried to a James H. Spencer & was living in Indianapolis (also 1920). Anyone with more information, please contact me.
