After middle life he moved to Hartford, Conn. But little is known of his career. He had a long line of descendants through his numerous family of sons and daughters, many of whom are living at different places, and others, children of his son Jared, located in Otsego and Oneida Counties, N. Y., whose descendants are still residing there at the present day. Among these perhaps the most distinguished was Com. George Marcellus Ransom, b. at Cooperstown, N.Y. He was an officer in the navy of the United States of commanding ability and achieved deserved distinction during the war for the Union, 1861-5.
