Married Catharine E. Jennings according to Family Group Sheet of Ruth Seeley Strothers. Notes from Shawn Doyle's Family Group Sheets states wife's name was Marsh. Possibly Catherine remarried after the death of Amos to someone named Jennings.

Amos and Catherine settled just east of Deckard's Run, a hamlet taking its name from the small brook which flows through the community, a feeder of French Creek. The family all were born on the farm, 17 children according to tradition, a few dying young. An old deer hide bound medicine book once belonging to Amos and having his name in it is in the care of Great-Granddaughter Suzanne Seeley Anderson of Clifton Park, New York.
Amos died in 1867 and his weathered white marble marker is in the old section of Peter's cemetery.
In the 1850 census the family is in Wayne Twp. (#1034) and ages are: Amos, 56, Catherine, 37; Samuel, 16; John, 13; Harriet, 12; David, 10; Eliza, 8; Peter, 5; Joel, 3; and Juliannn--1. Amos is listed as a carpenter, born in PA.
In the 1860 census the family is reported as: Amos, 55; Catherine, 35, Dollie, 19 (Elizabeth??); Peter, 15; July, 12; Jacob, 10 (likely Joel); Chambers, 8; and Eleanor, 5.
In 1870 Amos is dead, and the family is listed (#63) as: Peter, 24; Catherine, 60; Joel, 22; Chambers, 19 and Catherien E. 14 with Fanny Brown, 5 living with them.
In 1880 the family is: just Peter, (37) and Catherine (64. (#82)
