Note: There is much confusion & misunderstanding regarding Amy Wyche Clanton. After carefully going through the listings of births in Albemarle Parish, 1739-1777, Surry & Sussex Counties, it was discovered that there were only 2 Clanton babies named Amy born during that time period in that region of VA. One was this Amy Wyche Clanton, born 6/16/1771 (who was one of the only children with a middle name in this study) to Drury & Sarah Clanton and another Amy Clanton b 12/2/1750 to John & Amy Clanton (who was a twin to her sister Mary Clanton.). Also, there were No babies named Amy born to a Wyche family.
