About Anderson "Andrew" Lee
Anderson was the son of Burrell Russell Lee and Louhaney Paralee Swafford Lee. He married Louisa Jane Branham and they had about 13 children: Enoch G Lee; Louhana Ellen Lee; Edward Alonzo Lee; Mary Bell Lee Swafford; Robert James "Bob" Lee; Sherrod P Lee; Samuel W Lee; Maggie Anice Lee McGhee; Jennie Ottawa Lee Seals; Oscar N "Jack" Lee; Helen Schoolfield Lee; Aaron Franklin Lee; and Mattie Ault Lee.
Andrew was a preacher and here is what he said about a few days of his life:
"I preached that night at Melvine and spent the night at William Lee's. The next morning I went across the valley and up Walden's Ridge, a very high mountain, to Pleasant Hill, a plain old church and preached to a small congregation, that afternoon rode into Sequatchie Valley and remained over night with Curtis Hinch. He is a well-to-do man, but not a Christian. Through Grassy Cove again and over a high mountain through a heavy storm of wind and rain and preached at Stony Point, that afternoon I preached at Melvine in the Masonic Hall, after preaching I rode eight miles up Cumberland Mountain and celebrated the rites of matrimony that night between Reuban Lee and a daughter of Rev. B. J. Crofts at the home of her father. The next morning I had great nervous prostrations caused by excessive traveling and preaching. However I rode down into the valley seven miles to Brother Lee's with the wedding party."* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Feb 21 2020, 5:46:49 UTC
