Colonel, of Co. Kildare, wounded at the Battle of Hackstet, died in 1722 aged 80 - 'Pedigree of Armstrong of Mangerton in Scotland' (National Library of Ireland GO Ms. 171).

Born Stonestown; Lieutenant 13th Regiment of Foot 1685; Captain 1697; Major 1700; Lieutenant-Colonel; retired 1709/10 on being refused a regiment; bought Morristown Co. Kildare; Justice of the Peace; died 1722 aged 79 - John Armstrong, 'The Pedigree of the Family of Armstrongs' (National Library of Ireland Ms. 5216).
