Andrew Worth was the son of Sandy, Sr. and Effie Hunt Brooks. He married Mary Jane Locklear.

The following was taken from the Feb. 5, 1974 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:

Andrew W Brooks, 81, died Monday morning.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Pembroke Gospel Chapel by the Rev. Charles Oxendine and the Rev. Michael Brooks. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery.

Surviving are three sons, Worth, Charles and Raymond (Jackie) Brooks, all of Pembroke; three daughters, Mrs. Johnny Locklear and Mrs. Ebert Locklear, both of Pembroke, and Mrs. Willard Cummings of Chicago, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great granchild; two brothers, Peter Brooks of Pembroke and Joseph Brooks of Maryland; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Jane Oxendine of Lumberton and Mrs. Margie Deese of Maxton.

The family will be at the home of Johnny Locklear in Pembroke. The body will be removed to the chapel from Locklear & Son Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
