About Andrew L. Davis
DAVIS, THE SETTLERS OF SALEM, WEST VIRGINIA, by Susie Davis Nicholson, Salem, West Virginia, 1992. p. 46
"The Sabbath Recorder", Vol 38, No 24, p 5, June 15, 1882. At Milton Junction, Wis., June 5, 1882, Mr. Andrew Davis, in the 56th year of his age. For about twenty-five years he had been an invalid and cripple, which incapacitated him for labor. About sixteen years ago his wife died, leaving two small children; but God provided ready hands, prompted by willing hearts, to minister to his and their needs. He was an earnest Christian, and for the last sixteen years read his Bible through each year; and to the last his faith and love grew in strength and warmth. Pneumonia was the immediate cause of death. N. W.
