  • *****************************************

Andrew Maszk was born July 20, 1839 in Poland. He spent his early years in Poland and at age 26 married Lydia in Poland. Three years later, in 1868, at age 29, he and his wife immigrated to the U.S. settling in Winona, MN. Andrew and Lydia were both naturalized in 1873. They resided in MN for at least 10 years and had five children in MN before moving into ND around 1880. They had three more children in ND. The last, that I could find, was born in 1885. In 1893 they were living in Pulaski Township and farming 240 acres. In 1900 they were living in Pulaski Township with 3 sons, and farming. In 1910 they were living in a house in Warsaw, ND, no children living with them. In 1920 they were living in Harriston Township (Warsaw). A cemetery was first established on land owned by Andrzej Maszk. In 1900 Andrew was instrumental in helping build the St.Stanislaus Catholic Church in what as now known as Warsaw. He is my Great-granduncle. (Info per John Prondzinski via "Find A Grave")

Their family of eight children included Augusta married to Joseph Wysocki, John married to Kathryn Janikowski, Cecilia married to John Babinski, Leon married to Barbara Kamrowski, Frank married to Stella Kulas, Benedict married to Cecelia Paszk, Agatha married to Lawrence Wisniewski, and Joseph married to Josephine Misialek.
