Andrew Jackson Morris

Andrew Jackson Morris was born in Bethel, Monroe County, Ohio on 27 July 1840. He mustered out in the 116th Regiment Company C Ohio Infantry on 19 September 1862 in Gallipolis, Ohio at the age of 22 years for a period of three years. His war record indicates that he was wounded on the 31st of March 1865 at Hatchers Run, Virginia. A regimental report states that he was wounded in the breast. On the Company Descriptive Book he was described as Age 22 years, Height 5 feet 9 inches, Sandy complexion, Blue eyes and light hair. Record also shows that he was born in Monroe County, Ohio and that his occupation was a Farmer. His enlistment date in the 116th regiment was the 11th of August 1862 in Monroe County, Ohio by Lt. Lupton for a term of three years. He was mustered out of service on the 17th of June, 1865 at Ft. Monroe, Virginia.
He died on the 30th of May 1921 in Bethel, Monroe County, Ohio and was buried on the 3rd of June 1921 at the Hartshorn Ridge Cemetery. His death certificate states cause of death as "Supposed to be heart trouble".
