• ANDREW PETER PRETORIUS 1968 – 1993 Our Wonderful Son, Brother And Grandson Died Tragically Leaving Precious Memories Of His Love, Joy, Laughter And Achievements BELOVED GOLDEN BOY REST IN GOD’S CARE Andrew was a pupil at the Boys’ College and a boarder in Collins House. He was an extraordinarily talented sportsman. He received Transvaal Colours for Cricket in primary school, five times, until he was twice selected for Nuffield Week. He was an exceptional bowler and received his Honours blazer from Saints. Andrew also played 1st Team Rugby and was also selected to play Craven Week Rugby. When he was studying at Rand Afrikaans University, he played Rugby under the Captainship of Francois Pienaar and in the subsequent year, he Captained the U19 RAU team. Andrew was dedicated to the coaching of sport to underprivileged players. He played both Rugby and Cricket for International clubs. Andrew attended Teachers’ Training School and was a student sports coach at Roosevelt High. He was also a Housemaster at Saints. Tragically, Andrew was brutally assaulted and died from his injuries when he was 25 years of age.
