OK! I asked Annabelle Pigeon Murphy and she sent me a long e-mail... It gets confusing.

I too think my father's sister Lilly is still alive and maybe we can find out

the name of my father's father.

At times even your Dad asks how we are related. My Grandma Ann(Lee) Keating was a sister of Agnes (Lee ) Reilly.

Your Dad was born when his mother was 50 years old, and she died I believe in childbirth. For what ever reason your Grandfather Reilly didn't raise your father but a close friend or a relative of his mother, reared him. If I have the story correct, the couple had raised their children, who were older then took care of your father. He told me his father never acknowledged him as his son for what ever reason. Irish people are strange sometimes. Your grandfather remarried.

I'm so sorry we never asked about family history, so there are a lot of unanswered questions. When your Dad's brothers Ned and Andy came out from Ireland they boarded with my Grandma Keating. She also had my sister Chris living with her, and I was living with Aunt Tiny, Uncle Denny, their three children, Helen,

about 11, Jimmy 7 1/2 and Dennis 5. Ned and Andy were very good to Chris. My mother and aunt Tiny and Aunt Mae always spoke very lovingly of "Aunt Agnes"

They were born in the USA. They had a sister Kathleen that they always said died when she was very young. Through Tom's research we found out she died at age 9.

My grandma for what ever reason went back to Ireland with Mom, Tiny and Mae and stayed a few years there. My mother even had her report cards from the school she attended. From post cards your Aunt Lilly gave Mom from a cousin Annie Pringle, who died, for what ever reason my mother returned to the USA before her mother and sisters, and lived with her father. On the post cards she always looked forward to them coming back to America. They also leave us with more questions that no one can answer. Your father thinks Lilly is dead. I should take a chance and write to her daughter. Lilly was only a few years older than me, so maybe she is still alvie.

To get back to the Crowley's

They also had my uncle's nephew 21 year old Harry Jackman boarding with them. Brian got this info off the ancestry files. For the first time I learned my Aunt Tiny was 35 and Uncle Denny 36 when they took me "in" .

They only had a 4 room apartment. In later years Aunt Tiny told my borther Billy she regreted not taking him and my older brother Jimmy in too. My mother walked out on my father, letting him think she was going to Mass. Instead she came into her mothers, got a job as a baby nurse under her maiden name so myFather couldn't trace her. He was a carpenter, had trained in Ireland, but he wouldn't work steady. My mother couldn't see bringing more children in to this world if he wasn't going to support the family.

I saved info from Newsday about the family history channel and will e-mail it to you at a later date. I'm just tired tonight.

Just got off thr phone with Tom. He calls me almost every Sunday night. He doesn't have access to a computer any more, so when I send my crew an e-mail

I print it and mail it to him.

Thanks Geraldine,

I remember Dennis [Pigeon].

Dennis tried to persuade me that public buses were a viable way to travel around Nassau County.

I have a photo of Dennis which I will post on Geni when we learn where to put his profile page.

Yes, Annabelle [Pigeon Murphy] is related [to my father]. One person who died in NYC is Annabelle's brother Billy (William) [Pigeon].

... [also Annabelle's nephew] Dennis [Pigeon] passed away of AIDs many years ago in NYC.

I was asking Margaret about the exact way Annabel [Mrs. Jim Murphy] and my father are related, but we are both not completely sure.

Will ask Annabelle. I know her mother and my father's mother [were somehow related], maybe sisters? The Murphys had seven boys: Patrick, Dennis, Michael, Kevin, James, Thomas, Brian and one girl: Mary Ann. Pat died in Vietnam Kevin died while in boot camp in maybe N or S Carolina in a freak accident; while working on his car -- it was jacked up and fell on him.

August 10, 2008, James Griffin to Geraldine Tsuyuki:

In 1986 your parents listed your father's

Reilly ancestors in a neatly drawn-up family

tree.

Your parents bought their house in Uniondale

from Jim and Annabelle Murphy. Jim and Annabelle

live/lived in Levittown, Long Island, NY.

If memory services, the Murphys are cousins

of some sort of your father. How are these

Murphys related to your father's Reillys?

Who was the Murphy son who died in Vietnam?

Who was the other Murphy son who died on

Long Island or NYC?

Another son, Dennis Murphy, and his wife,

Peggy, live/lived in NJ. There are other Murphy

siblings?
