About Andrew Jackson Riney

Andy Riney of South Jackson Township, Clark county, died at a store in Derrahs, Lewis county, at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1913, aged about 38 years. He had been to Canton in company with a neighbor, E. Spurgeon. On the way home at Derrahs, Mr. Spurgeon noticed that Mr. Riney was ill and he was taken from the buggy into a store where he died in a short time. A physician had been summoned from Monticello and he pronounced death due to heart failure. The Funeral services were conducted at the St. Patrick Catholic church, Thursday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m., by Father Donovan. The interment was in the church cemetery. Undertaker Karle of this city had charge of the funeral. Deceased was a brother of Mrs. Walter White of this city.

Andrew Jackson Riney was born Aug. 2nd, 1875; died Jan. 28th, 1913, of heart trouble. He was a charter member of the W. C. U., whose society turned out in full to pay the last and tribute to their departed brother. "Jack" as he was familiarly called was held in high esteem by all who knew him, which was plainly attested by the large concourse of friends who attended the funeral. He is survived by one half-sister, Mrs. Walter White, of Kahoka, and three brothers, Richard, Frank and Dave, of Jackson township, and six nephews and five nieces. Burial at St. Patrick cemetery Jan. 30, conducted by Rev. Donovan. The pallbearers were Frank Fetter, Tom Reichling, Vincent Beaudreau, Ed Uhlmeyer, Ralph McDermott and Tom Evers.
