The descendants of Andrew Stephenson (also spelled Stevenson or Steavenson) spelled the surname Stimpson or Stimson.
Many sites indicate Stevenson's birth as "before 1620." The justification for that is not clear. MyHeritage site does include a purported christening record for 1604 with the father as Willm.
