The following inscriptions are from the Providence Presbyterian churchyard, four miles south of Trappe, Montgomery County, Pa. beginning at the north end of the row:
"In memory of Robert Hamill, a merchant of the boroough of Norristown, who departed this life June 27th, 1838, in the 80th year of his age."
(There follows a statement of his relation to the Presbyterian Church, being an elder, and a flattering record of his christian character)
Died Dec. 27th, 1850 Isabella Todd Hamill,wife of Robert Hamill, daughter of Andrew and Hannah Todd, maternal grand-daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Bowyer, and great grand-daughter of John and Ann Edwards. These all died in Faith (&c.) Heb 11th and 13"v". Near to this on same slab are:
"Andrew Todd, died 1838, aged 81 years.
"Hannah Todd, wife of Andrew Todd, Died 1838, aged 80 years."
Andrew Todd just mentioned was the youngest son and child of Robert and Isabella Todd. Hannah's maiden name was Bowyer

Bought from the Penn family a large tract of land near Freeland (now College Way) which remained in the family until 1884, called The Trappe in Montgomery County, PA. As a young man, Andrew TODD, served with the Revolutionary Army. Late in life he ws known as COL. Andrew Todd, which led some inquirers to imagine that he was a Rev. Colonel. He was an extensive land owner, and was appointed justice of peace from Providence Township (Montgomery Co.) PA, 22 May 1800. He was a member of the Providence Presby Church.
