Andrew Wolf, prominent farmer of this community and one of the early settlers of central Stearns county, died last Thursday morning, January 17th at his farm home 7 miles south of Albany in the town of Farming. Death came after a lingering illness, deceased having been in ill health for the past two years and a half.
The funeral was held at 9:30 o'clock, Saturday morning when a requiem mass was held at the Seven Dolors church of which Mr. Wolf was a loyal member for many years. Rev. Alto, O.S.B., officiated at the mass and funeral services. The St. Joseph Society of which the deceased was a member attended the last rites in a body. A large number of relatives, neighbors and friends were in attendance.
Born in Bavaria, Germany, on June 29th, 1864, Andrew Wolf came to this country with his parents when a boy of eleven years of age, and they immediately settled near Albany. His marriage to Miss Margaret Mergen took place at Avon on November 17th, 1896, and they made their home on the farm where they lived since. Besides his wife he leaves fourteen children. Edward Wolf and Mrs. John Holthaus of Albany; George, Theodore, Joseph, Mary, John, Caroline, Michael, Andrew, Leo, Margaret, Luella and Helen, all at home. He is also survived by three brothers, Adam Wolf of St. Paul, Lawrence Wolf of Richmond and George Wolf of Albany.
