Andro Anderson

ANDRO ANDERSON (aka ANDRO ANDERSONE)

Andro Anderson is identified as the husband of Margaret Rankin and the father of James Anderson in Stobscross in a genealogy of the family which was first published in The Andrean, the magazine of the Anderson Association. Death

Andro Anderson died before 24 March 1545, the date upon which his grandson Ninian Anderson, son of James Anderson took up the rental of Keppoch. Andro's widow Margaret Rankin and their younger children gave their consent. Rental Book of the Barony of Glasgow, page 126

On 18 May 1521 Andro Andersone and his wife Margarat Rankin took up the a rental of the forty-four shilling four penny land of Keppoch. Rental Book of the Barony of Glasgow, page 80

On 24 March 1545 Margret Rankyn gave her consent when Ninian Anderson, son of James Anderson in Stobcross, took up the rental of a twenty shilling land of Keppoch. Her children by her deceased husband Andro Anderson also gave their consent: "be consent of Margret Rankyn, possessour of of the sammyn hyr barnis gettin betuix hyr and vnquhil Andro Anderson, hyr spowsse." On 23 March 1547 Ninian Anderson, son of James Anderson in Stobcross, took up a rental for a twenty-three shilling four penny land of Keppoch. He did so with the consent of Janet Anderson, Bessy Anderson and Violet Anderson, daughters of the decease Andro Anderson. Rental Book of the Barony of Glasgow, page 138
