Andrzej Rozek

Hit by a Milwaukee Road train. Probably the celebrated drinker and brawler; his namesake Andrew Rozek of Rolbik was 15 years older.

STRUCK BY TRAIN. Andrew Rozek Meels with a Violent and Sudden Death. Mr. Andrew Rozek. who resided at 964 East King street met a violent death on Thursday evening by being run down by a Milwaukee and St. Paul train about half a block east of the Mankato avenue crossing. He had left home shortly before 7 o'clock to go to a store' across! the track and it is supposed that he was struck by the north bound Dutchman, train, of whose approach he must have been unaware until it was upon him. The body was found shortly after 8 o'clock by a neighbor, whose attention was attracted by a torn shoe near the track. While there is no regular crossing of the track at the place where Mr. Rozek was struck, yet there is a much used footpath. Coroner Tweedy and Night Captain Jazewski of the police force were called to the scene as soon as the body was found. The evidence indicated an accidental death. The lower limbs of the deceased Were badly broken' below the knees', and the clothing from the abdomen down was torn. It is supposed that internal injuries were received that caused instant death. The "remains were removed to the family " residence and taken in charge by Undertaker Burke.
