This John McNeil married Christie, daughter of Rory McDonald (Big), of Judique. Issue: — John, James, Donald, Malcolm, Rory, Elizabeth, Christie, Mary, Sarah, Lucy.

James (the River) married Peggie, daughter of Donald McLean (Angus Og). Issue: — Michael who went West; John and Angus who settled at North Sydney; Donald who lived in Sydney Mines; Betsey who married in Halifax; Mary who married Michael McMullin, and Lucy who married Michael McKinnon (Hector Big John).
