Birth date is estimated. Text: Isaac Carter was born about 1764 in Cumberland County N.C. and died March 24, 1834 in Pike County Ms. Buried on Rocky Creek , Chattawa, MS. Isaac married Ann Elizabeth (Nancy) Young about 1780 in Orangeburg District S.C. Nancy was born about 1765 In Orangeburg S.C. and died about 1837 in Mississippi. The following material is extracted from the book "They Came West" compiled by the Washington Parish Oushola Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. This was also reprinted in an article,"The Saga of Issac Carter" July 26th,1976 Daily News, Bogalusa, LA. "In the course of (Isaac Carter's) duty, his troop was sent into the Orangeburg District of South Carolina, where he met the William Young family which had emigrated from Holland in 1735, also the Louis Lindens. He married Mary Ann (Nancy) Young when he was 15 and she 14 years of age. Their first child, William Young Carter, was born when Isaac was 16 years of age."
