Little is known about Ann. As a widow she was known as Dame Hunking. She paid taxes on Great Island & Sandy Beach. Ann along with 7 other women in 1693 was assigned the first seat in the Portsmouth Meeting House, a high honor.

In 1660-61 Mark Hunking was granted a"whole neck of land" (Little Harbor, NH). He was trained as a shipwright but became owner of a fishing boat and employed a master to operate it. He might have owned the fishing industries on his island.
