From page #128 in "History of Christmas Island Parish":
Rory McNeil and his Descendants
Malcolm McNeil, of Barra, was married and had a family of two sons, John, and Rory.
John never came to America. It is probable that Rory came to Cape Breton in 1822. He settled at Shenacadie. He was married to Sarah, daughter of Rory McPherson. They had a family of twelve sons and one daughter. Seven of their sons died in Barra, and the following settled in Cape Breton, viz., Murdock, Donald, Alexander, Rory, Donald, and Mary.
Donald Mor settled at Shenacadie and married Ann, daughter of James McNeil (Charles). They had a family of twelve children, five of whom died young. The remaining were Michael D., John H., Rory D., Michael L., Elizabeth, Sarah, and Christie.
