He was married twice. His first wife was Mary, daughter of Thomas Bryden.

Peter McNeil’s second wife was Ann, daughter of Alex McNeil (Hector), of Grand Narrows.

Alexander (Alasdair Mac Eachainn) was ferryman at Grand Narrows for a long time. He was a great swimmer; and it is said that he could swim the Narrows with ease. He married Isabella, daughter of Hugh McSween, Glasgow. This woman was named after the wife of the Chief of Barra.

The issue of this marriage was:— Hugh, Michael, Margaret, Hector, Sarah, Stephen, Ann and Katie

Ann married Peter McNeil, Piper’s Cove.
