About Ann Morton

The father of Ann Morton is said to be Ephraim Abbot, however, Ephraim's father was John Cooper. It appears there was an error when registering Ephraim's surname.

Not the daughter of John Cooper of the Hopewell

Ann Cooper married Ephraim Morton on 18 Nov 1644 at Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Although she married the younger brother of Nathaniel Morton, it is unclear if she was a younger sister to Nathaniel's wife, Lydia Cooper. That would also make her a sister to Deacon John Cooper of Scituate and Barnstable, who married Priscilla Carpenter, widow of William Wright, in 1634.

They had 8 children: George; Patience; Ephraim; Rebecca; Josiah; Nathaniel; Eleazer; and Thomas.

She died in Plymouth, Massachusetts on 1 Sep 1691.

Her husband, Lt. Ephraim Morton, died in Plymouth, Massachusetts on 7 Sep 1693.
