About Ann Farwell Roper
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:
Ann Farwell Roper, (daughter of Thomas Roper and Mary James) b. 20 Oct 1797, bapt. in Whitechurch Canonicorum, Dorset, England, on Jan 23, 1798. On June 24th., 1816, Ann Farwell Roper married Isaac Backaller Moly, by banns, in Hawkchurch, both of the parish, both signed; witnesses were Joel Roper, Mary Roper and Jane Simes. Isaac was a son of James Moly. At the 1851 census for Hawkchurch village, Ann C. Moley 50, widow, draper, was living with her son James 25. In April 1854, Ann Farwell Moly of Hawkchurch, widow, was owner of the Langmoor Estate in Charmouth, Dorset. At the 1861 census, Ann F. Moly 63 was a widow in Hawkchurch, a grocer and draper, living with unmarried son, James 35. Ann died, in Axminster district, about Q2 of 1864. Isaac and Ann had issue, James Moly.
