About Ann Ryan

"Della" Adelia "Della" Ryan Kendall passed away peacefully on Christmas morning with family members present at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center at the age of 92. She was born to James J. Ryan and May Fairbanks Ryan on September 10, 1911 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she faithfully fulfilled many callings. Mother is remembered as an outstanding homemaker and cherished for her untiring service and love to all her family, friends, neighbors, and even the stranger. In her later years she enjoyed her work in women's fashion retail. She delighted in helping women choose beautiful clothing. Her beautiful smile and humor has made life a joyful experience for all of us. We will hold these memories in our hearts.

Mother spent most of her early years in Payson, Utah. She married Wayne Pickering in 1928 and they had two children. They later divorced. She married Fred Guarnett Kendall on February 26, 1938 in Provo, Utah and they were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple. She and Guarnett lived in Nephi, Utah until 1952, when the family moved to Provo. Guarnett passed away on January 26, 1990. Della is survived by her sister, Dorothy Ryan Cox of Provo; children, Carol Lee Pickering Price (Alvin Price) of Payson, Nilan Wayne Pickering (Edith) of Nephi; Kearn G. Kendall (Vicki) of Provo; and Sheila K. Fortner (William Fortner) of Gold Canyon, Arizona. Survivors also include 22 grandchildren, 43 great-grand-children, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Kerry W. Pickering and Tracy R. Price, four brothers, and two sisters. Special thanks to Jan Rand for her loving care.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2003 at Berg Mortuary, 185 E. Center Street, Provo. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Aid Fund.
