1841 Census age 5 Barton upon Irwell

1851 never located - but many Salford returns not available/damaged

On the 1841 returns she is said to have been born in the county, but at the time of the birth of son Charles in Australia she gave her birthplace as Bath, Somerset.

The couple were married at Cathedral, Manchester 15 May 1857, and their first child Charles was born 5 months later 16 Oct 1857 in Geelong, Australia.

A few embellishments!

On the birth certificate of son Charles their wedding date is given as 1856 - presumably to cover up the fact that Charles was conceived before they were married.

In 1868 they gave 15 May 1856, and Ann said she was born in Manchester.

In 1877 the year of the marriage was given as 1855.

There seems to have been a fair amount of cover up going on!

Anne Wallworth (Wallwork) left England on board the Hornet on 23 May 1857. The ship sailed from Southampton. Anne went on an assisted passage. According to the shipping records, Anne was 21 years of age, she was single, she could read and write, her religion was C/E. She went out as a housemaid to be employed by Mr Longham (?not sure of this, the writing was hard to read). She was to be employed for 1 term (not sure how long a term was) and she was to be paid 30 (pounds or shillings - not known).

In 1914 Ann Worroll was living in Williamstown, Victoria Australia (Australian Electoral roll)
