About Anna Eugenia Atkinson

Anna "Ann" Henderson Atkinson passed away on January 16, 2013, in Provo, Utah, joining her husband on what would have been his 95th birthday. She was born in Arimo, Idaho, to Louis Edgar and Anna Eugenia Benson Henderson on October 14, 1916, the fourth of eight children.

She attended Arimo and Pocatello, Idaho schools as well as Idaho State University. Ann was a life-long, faithful member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities.

She married Charles "Chick" Atkinson on September 2, 1938, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Chick passed away January 4, 1962. Ann also lost her second daughter, Cathy, on June 23, 1950. She is remembered by her four remaining children, Judy VanDongen (Ray), David Atkinson (Christine), Scott Atkinson (Mary), and Jane Greer (Ray). She is also mourned by twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren. Her last great-grandchild, Marianne Eugenia, was born minutes before Ann passed. Her brothers, Ralph and Boyd Henderson, and her sister, Joyce Sainsbury, also survive her.

Her parents, brothers Louis, Dean, and Sidney Henderson, and sister Helen Passey, also preceded her in death.

We, her children, honor her memory and remember her for her devotion to her family and the Church.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks for the loving support of her dear friend and sister-in-law, Dona Le Henderson, as well as her sweet caretakers, the staff at Courtyard at Jamestown and her hospice nurse.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, Monday, January 21, 2013, at the Provo Peak 2nd Ward Chapel, 965 North Locust Lane, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the church from 10-11:15 am prior to services. Interment will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 22 at the Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello, Idaho.

In lieu of flowers, Anna requested that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake.
