

Anna Fay Casebeer, 93, daughter of Ulysses Grant and Mary Ellen Evans McKinney, was born July 9, 1905 near Upton. She died April 28, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital at Mountain View.
She married Vernie Clifford Casebeer Dec. 25, 1928. They had one son.
Mrs. Casebeer spent her lifetime in Texas County, graduating from Houston High School in 1928. She was a teacher for more than 40 years, retiring in 1972.
The Casebeers lived in the Fairview community for many years. After Mr. Casebeer's death, she moved to Van Buren with her son. She was living in a nursing home at the time of her death.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, her church, Monday night sing-alongs and Friday night domino games.
She was active in the Fairview Pentecostal Church, serving in whatever capacity she was needed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie; six brothers and sisters, May Sails, Henry McKinney, Beulah Hammer, Charles McKinney, Raymond McKinney and Audrey Scott.
Surviving are her son, Gayle Courtney Casebeer; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were May 1 at the Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Derrel Friend officiating. Burial was in the Dykes Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston.
