Ruth Tassoni (born December 3, 1908 in Berlin, † 14 November 1994 in Bergamo) was a writer.

Tassoni was born in 1908 in Berlin Ruth Domino. She was the daughter of a Prussian officer and a Jewish mother. While studying German and history in Vienna, she worked in the Jewish orphanage for blind children, the Viktor Lowenfeld initiated. In 1933 she also received the Austrian citizenship by marrying the doctor Fritz Jensen. In 1937 she separated from Jensen and worked as a nurse at the International Brigades in the Spanish Civil War. In 1938 she fled to Paris where she wrote stories that appeared in different countries, sometimes under the pseudonym Ruth Lenz.

In the 40 years she worked as a German teacher in the United States, 1950, she married the Italian Professor Mario Tassoni and moved with him to Bergamo. There she worked as an editor for the publishing house Mondadori.
