About Anna Christina Imel
Anna married twice. ; She married Clayton Earl Imel March 25, 1915 in Kearney, Buffalo County, Nebraska at the county court house. It was a double ceremony with her brother Robert (Bob) Clarence Olson and Ella S. Rodine. Anna was born and grew up on a farm near Holdrege, Nebraska. She graduated from the 8th grade at the Kearney Normal School, and the next year she returned to Phelps County to teach rural school, District #47. The school board members were Adolph Just (her sister Stella's father-in-law), Pete Olson (her father), Jake Smith, and George Arnold (her ex father-in-law??) [from Phelps County-Nebraska History 1873-1980 book and obituary). Anna and Clayton lived in the Funk area about 5 years and then moved north of Holdrege on the Erlandson farm near the Kronquest farm (from Phelps County History 1873-1980 book). They moved to Kearney in 1928 where Anna later was employed at Bissell's Drapery, Hirschfeld's Clothing and Ruters (from obituary). Anna was a member of the church since 1932, where she served as a deaconess and held other church offices. Second, she married Erving Arnold She was also a member of the Kearney VFW Auxiliary (info from obituary).
