About Anna J. Larson
obit:
Mrs Anna J. Larson, 79, 329 Ave C, died Friday morning at Lutheran Hospital. Mrs Larson, who was admitted to the hospital for medical treatment Thursday night, had been in failing health since she suffered a fratured him in a fall last May.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev Arthur E. Enquist, pastor, will officite. Burial will be Blossom Hill Cemetery at Badger. Bruces’s are in charge of the funeral arrangements. The casket will be taken from the funeral home to the church at 1 P.M. Monday.
Surviving Mrs. Larson are one son, Edward Larson of Kasson, MN and eight daughters; Mrs Myrtle Askland of Des Moines, Mrs Junis Johnson of Manchester, MN, Mrs Orville Erickson of Thor, Mrs Charles Askland of Boone, Mr Glen Peterson of Muskegon, MI, Mrs Herbert Griep of Fort Dodge, Mr Wilbur Jeanblanc of Vincent and Mrs Richard Forsland of Fort Dodge. Thirty Five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several brothers and sister also survive. Her husband John Larson died Nov 11, 1955. A son Glenn, four grandchildren, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
The former Anna Peterson, Mrs Larson, was born Oct 29, 1880 in Champaign,Il. She was the daughter of late Mr & Mrs Jacob Peterson. She came to Webster County as a child with her parents and attended schools of the Badger vicinity. She married Jan 22, 1903 in Badger to John J. Larson. The Larson’s lived on a farm near Badger until they retired in 1943 and moved into Badger. They moved to Fort Dodge in 1950 and observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1953.
For the past 3 months she had been staying with her daughter Mrs Mrytle Askland in Des Moines. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
