The 1940 U.S. census has William with Anne E. Lye in N.Y. it also lists two step sons living with them. They must be hers from a prior marriage, they are William age 23 and Charles Lotheridge age 17. Charles' obit spells it Lothridge.

TEWKSBURY; Two Tewksbury residents are beneficiaries under the will of the late William Lye of Colonie N. Y. According to the terms of the will Mrs. Anne E Lye of Colonie receives the bulk of of her husband's estate who died Jan 29. She is to receive a trust fund plus an outright bequest. On the death of Mrs Lye one-half of the trust fund goes to a son Earl Lye of Tewksbury and the rest will be divided among three daughters Mrs. Beatrice Garlick Tewksbury, Mrs. Eva H. Hillard of Colonie, and Mrs. Esther M. Smith of Amsterdam N Y

Note; This wife Anne of Colonie, N.Y. must be his second wife as the mother of the four children was Laura, who had been living in Tewksbury since 1930.

LYE- at rest July 22, 1986. Anna E. Lye, formerly of 1115 Troy- Schenectady Road. Wife of the late William Lothridge and William Lye, mother of William Lothridge of Fort Charlotte, Florida and Charles Lothridge of Ossining, New York. Also survived by one granddaughter and one niece. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Robert F. Dufresne Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham, with Rev. William H. deforest officiating. No calling hours. Interment in Memory’s Garden, Colonie.
