Daughter of George & Etta Rodamaker Ashley
Anna Mae Heit, 90, died Friday, May 21, at Affinity House.
She was born May 10, 1920 in Deerfield Township, Chickasaw County, daughter of George and Etta Rodamaker Ashley. She married Bernard J. Heit June 28, 1948 in Charles City. He died May 20, 1995.
Mrs. Heit graduated from Charles City High School. She received a bachelor's degree in teaching from UNI and taught in Deerfield Township. She taught elementary education at Lafayette School, St. Joseph Catholic School, St. Mary's Catholic School, and adult basic education at Hawkeye Community College.
Survived by one son, Tom (Lora) of Evansdale; one daughter, Bernadette of Waterloo; three grandsons, Tom (Lea) of Raymond, George (Allison) of Waterloo, and Jonathan of Evansdale; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Rodamaker of Cedar Falls.
Preceded in death by one brother, Tom (Magdalene) Ashley; and one brother-in-law, Joe Rodamaker.
ervices 10:30 a.m. Monday at Queen of Peace Parish, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Monday at the church.
