Anna L. Mull

Anna L. Mull, 97, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Monday evening, June 12, 2017 at Winfield Senior Living. Born June 29, 1919 in Alva, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Henry and Adelaide “Nancy” (Davidson) Cummings. Her early childhood was spent in Bentonville, Arkansas until her family moved to Winfield, Kansas where Anna attended Winfield High School. Anna was united in marriage to John E. Mull in November 1945 in Ashland, Kansas. The couple lived in Ashland until 1954, when they moved to Winfield. Mrs. Mull was a Rosie Riveter at Boeing during WWII. She worked as a nurse’s aide at William Newton Hospital as well as the Winfield State Hospital and Training Center. She then went to work at TG&Y until becoming unable to work outside the home. John preceded her in death in 1973. Anna was a member of First United Methodist Church in Winfield. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and loved to play pitch. Her family includes: Her son: Don Mull and wife, Mary of Winfield; Her daughter-in-law: Marcia Mull of Winfield; Her grandchildren: Teresa Johnson, James Mull, John Mull, Jeramy Mull, Jennifer Preston; and Her great grandchildren: Darian Allen, RC Allen, William Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, Kendra Mull, John R. Mull, Jack Mull, Jessica Mull, Isabelle Mull, Jonah Mull, Lane Preston and Landon Preston. In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by a son, John Owen Mull in 2015, her sister, Virginia Knuckey and brothers, Owen and Don Cummings. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at First Untied Methodist Church in Winfield. Private family inurnment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been established in Anna’s name for the Winfield Senior Citizens Center and for Friendship Meals. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
