About Anna L Nelson
On May 30, 1924, Anna (Matson) Nelson and her husband, Walter Nelson, Ieft their little daughter, Margaret, with friends at Beloit, Wisconsin, and early in the morning, started for Newport, Indiana, to visit friends. They were traveling in a motorcycle of the sidecar type, and Mr. Nelson's nephew, Folmer Hansen, was following with a plain Motorcycle. When near Elmhurst, 16 miles west of Chicago, some automobiles, were approaching under speed; it is evident that, Anna 's husband slowed up, somewhat, and at that moment his nephew's motorcycle crashed into the side-car, sideswiping the side-car quickly to the left where it was crashed into by the autos, resulting in the instant death of Anna. The funeral services were conducted at the Matson-Nelson home, 1004 Oak Street, Beloit, Wisconsin, Sunday, June 1, 1924 and burial was made in the, A. L. Matson family lot in the northeast corner of Oakwood Cemetery, Beloit, Wisconsin.
