Entered by Janice Forbes 19 April 2011 (See also under Anna's brother William Ker):
Mum (Amy Greenlees (Cutler) 1917-2011) told me that when she was a child she and her mother used to visit my paternal great grandmother, Anna Ker, in Kempsey. Anna would talk to Mum about her family history and about her family's links to royalty. I wonder if this was where Mum developed her lifetime interest in the court of Henry VIII about which she loved to read. As a young woman, when nursing in Goondiwindi Mum met and married Anna's grandson, John Augustus Greenlees (1922-2002). Although friends had warned Mum against marrying this wild young fellow with a reputation for being something of a "lady's man" she ignored their advice because she knew and loved his grandmother, and was impressed by his family background.
