About Anna M. Phelps
Anna was born in Otsego County, NY, on 20 Oct 1841. She was the daughter of Ira Pratt Sr. She was living with her family in Meeker County in 1859 at the time of the Indian outbreak in 1862. She fled with her family to Forest City, went to Minneapolis, from which the family went back to New York, and returned to the family farm two years later.
Anna married Orrin A. Phelps on 16 Aug 1868, and they took up residence on a homestead in Cosmos Township, Meeker County, MN, where the village of Cosmos now stands. In 1876, they moved to Litchfield Minnesota, where they lived until Anna's death.
Anna was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Women's Relief Corps in Litchfield. Anna died in Minneapolis, MN, on 6 Feb 1920 and was buried in the Litchfield Cemetery.
