About Anna Jacoba Reed
Anna Jacoba Reed (1941 - 2006)
Anna (65), who lived alone and ran a small farm shop on her farm Arib, in the Gobabis district, Khomas, in Windhoek, Namibia, was murdered on 21st September 2006. Her naked body was found by her housekeeper the following morning. She had been bludgeoned with a heavy object and strangled.
Hendrik Swarts (35) and Adam Khuxab (29) were chrged with Anna's murder and appeared in the Windhoek high court, and charged with murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, theft and obstruction of justice. The case was postponed until 22nd February 2007.
The accused allegedly gained access to Anna's house through an open window. She was assaulted before being killed.
The two perpetrators stole a ring, a money box, an unknown amount of money, binoculars, and toiletries.
Numerous farm attacks and murders happen in Namibia, and as Anna's murder occurred outside of South Africa, it does not fit within the strict definition of a South African farm attack.
