About Anna Rachael Ropp

One of eight children of David D. and Catherine Mayer Knopf, she married Peter A. Ropp in Normal, IL on Aug. 6, 1932. He died Dec. 15, 2003. They had been married 71 years and had farmed. Surviving three sons.

Graduate of Mennonite School of Nursing in Bloomington, IL in 1931, its oldest living graduate, she had received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1989. In addition to private duty nursing, 22 years as a relief supervisor at Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington. Following retirement, she volunteered until the age of 98 in the Hospital Auxiliary.
