- "Rites set for Anna E. Tietjens.
- "Funeral services for Mrs. Louis (Anna E.) Tietjens, 91, 118 S. Monroe, who died Tuesday at a Mason City nursing home, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel.
- "She was born Dec. 17, 1879, in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of Frederick and Augusta Vitze. The family came to the United States in 1885, and she attended schools in Carpenter.
- "She married Louis Tietjens in Mason City in January 1906. They farmed in the area before moving to Saskatchewan, Canada, in 1909. They farmed there until returning to Mason City in 1949.
- "Mrs. Tietjens was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
- "She is survived by three sons, Arthur and Marvin, both of Mason City, and Aldee, Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Arlene) Haight, Hanley, Sask., Canada; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Martha Fladness, Tucson, Ariz.
- "She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and two sisters.
- "The Rev. E. A. Hering, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, will officiate. Organist will be Ruth Patton, and soloist will be Merle Dickinson. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
