A mass of the Resurrection was held Monday, June 11 at 10:30am in the Immaculate Conception Church of Riceville for Ellen A Wagner, 98, with the Rev. Leo Pospichal officiating. Mrs. Wagner passed away June 7, 1984 at the Riceville Community Rest Home.

She was born October 24, 1885 in New Haven, Iowa, the daughter of Josephine and Christian Fox.

On February 8, 1911, she was united in marriage to Stephen H. Wagner at New Haven and to this union five children were born.

She is survived by her five children, Mrs. Ray (Gladys) Jacobus, Mr. Glen Wagner, Mrs. Edmund (Agnes) Anderson,Mr Robert Wagner and Mr. Leonard Wagner; three sisters, Verona Michels, Winnie Marley and Ida Burke, all of Osage; 18 grandchildren – 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1936, and four brothers, Matt, Albert, Frank, and Henry.

Internment was in Calvary Cemetery in Riceville with Conway Funeral in charge of arrangements.
