The oldest of 8 children born to Henry Ninteman and "Mary" Jacobsmeyer, Katie was the only daughter. She and her 7 brothers were raised in Calhoun County, Illinois.

Katie married Jacob "Jake" Weigel, Jr. on 04 May 1904 in Lebanon, St. Clair County, Illinois. They were the parents of 16 children.

Jake died due to the measels at the age of 46.

Children from first marriage: 8 sons, 7 daughters, 1 unknown infant.

After his death, Katie married John "Rotger" Sevier. [His name appears as Rutger on many records.]

Rotger died in 1955 and was buried next to his first wife.

Katie died unexpectedly at the home of her daughter, Edna LaMarsh, near Brussels in Calhoun County. At the time of her death, Katie was 71 years, 7 months and 16 days old.

She was survived by 5 sons, Henry Weigel of Greenfield, Illinois, Robert Weigel of Delhi, Illinois, William Weigel of Granite City, Illinois, Fred Weigel of Alton, Illinois, and Art Weigel of Palo Alto, California; 5 daughters, Emma Willman of Wood River, Illinois, Edna LaMarsh of Brussels, Illinois, Alma Miller of Edwardsville, Illinois, Dorothy Koch of Edwardsville, Illinois, and Luella Goss of Monaca, Pennsylvania; many grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Ollie Ninteman of San Francisco, California, and Frank Ninteman of Carlton, Minnesota.

In addition to both of her husbands, Katie was preceded in death by her parents, and 6 children.

Visitation was held at Imming Funeral Home in Brussels, Illinois on 22 Feb 1958. The rosary was recited there at 7:30 p.m. the following evening. Funeral services were conducted at 9 a.m. on the morning of 24 Feb 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brussels. Katie was buried next to her first husband, Jacob.
