

Some of the history of parliament biographies of those associated with her say that she is the daughter of the Sir Nathaniel Bacon, half-brother of Sir Francis Bacon, who died in 1618. The biography of Sir Francis, however, says that she is his great-niece, not his niece; and the Sir Nathaniel who is her father is also associated with an estate in Suffolk which came to another of his half-brothers, Edward Bacon MP, through his wife; their son, Nathaniel, is the one shown here
