About Anne Fitzgerald
Anne Morris was the eldest child born to William and Jemima Morris. As her father was a coastguard moving from place to place along the coasts of Ireland, Anne spent most of her adult years in Cork City where she met and married James Fitzgerald, a cooper by occupation on 26 December 1829 at St. Mary's Shandon, Cork City They lived on Francis Street, in the parish of St. Peter's. Mother of six children, Anne and others of her family, died during the Potato Famine and are buried in the St. MIchael's Church of Ireland Cemetery, Blackrock, Cork, Ireland where Morris and related families were also buried. Like her parents, Anne was a Protestant. Her name has been spelled Anne and also Ann.
