Anne Isabel Philipps, a daughter of Charles Joseph Philipps and Maria Anna White, was bp. on January 30th., 1823, in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Hope, Buleshawar, Bombay, India,13 days old, her god-parents being Thomas Henry Philipes and Margarida of Masagaon. The cathedral register, in Portuguese, spelled the surname Philipes. On November 11th., 1839, in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Hope, Buleshawar, Bombay, Anne married Dominic Francis Gonsalves. Dominic was born about July 1812, and bp. on July 19th., 1812, in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Hope, Buleshawar, a son of Dominic Gonsalves and Rosa de Mello, his wife. Dominic was probably an engineer, who migrated about 1837 to Java, to assist his older brother, Joseph Maria Gonsalves, manage sugarcane factories, in Cheribon, Java. Dominic died in Cheribon, Java, on January 2nd., 1852. Anne Isabel returned to Bombay. Aged 64, Anne died on March 17th., 1887, a widow, and she was buried in Sewri Cemetery, Bombay. Dominic and Anne had issue.
