Disputed Origins

In various online family trees she is named as the daughter of John Burford and Elizabeth Parrot, but she isn't listed amongst their children in A genealogy of the Buford family in America, with records of a number of allied families, by Marcus Bainbridge Buford (1903) https://archive.org/stream/genealogyofbufor00bufo (see p. 18) and they have been disconnected. Please don't reconnect them without providing evidence that she is their child.
She is also given the surname Beaufort or Beauford, but this seems to be an attempt to connect her to the Beaufort family, descendants of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster, and his mistress (later wife), Katherine Swynford, and there is no source that confirms Anne is known by this name.

“Ann Beaufort married her cousin John Ragland” in 1715 and in 1720 settled in Hanover County, Virginia where they had 1,289 acres near the south of Chickahominy Swamp upon the Mechumps Creek. The residence was named "Ripping Hall" This home remained in possession of the descendants until 1823.

18 Mar 1709/10, Grant from the Crown:16,000 acres in Virginia. Wealthy landowner (15000) acres, slaves, planter and land speculator, and a Major General. "Ripping Hall" Mechumps Creek, Hanover Co., VA

Estate was named "Rippon Hill." Burned in 1825 and never rebuilt.
