Anthony Isadore Fischer

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waite Park, for Anthony I. Fischer, 89, formerly of Park Garden Apartments, Waite Park, who died Thursday at Waite Park Nursing Home.

The Rev. Herman Winkels will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Williams Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be 7:30 tonight at the funeral home followed by Bishop Zardetti Knights of Columbus Council 5548 at 8.

Anthony Fischer was born Aug. 23, 1900, in Eden Valley to Joseph and Catherine (Gondringer) Fischer. He married Gertrude Schreifels June 23, 1925, in St. Wendelin's Catholic Church, Luxemburg. She died Aug. 7, 1959. He then married Carrie Lunge June 11, 1963, in Tyler and she died March 3, 1975. He was employed by Burlington Northern Car Shops for 44 years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Bishop Zardetti Knights of Columbus Council 5548.

Survivors include daughters and son, Mrs. Al (Stella) Schueller, Mrs. Wayne (Eleanor) Fischer, Mrs. Daniel (Viola) Dombrovski and Mrs. George (Jeanette) Nistler, St. Cloud; Herman, Lincoln, Neb.; stepdaughter, Mrs. Mae Halling, Tyler; sisters and brother, Mrs. Norbert (Rose) Kenning, St. Augusta; Mrs. Ann East, Waite Park; Joseph, Luxemburg; Mrs. John (Christine) Walz, St. Joseph; 26 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; and two step-great-great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mrs. Casper (Hyacintha) Schluender and Mrs. Roman (Marie) Willenbring; brother Aloys; and two grandchildren.
