He passed away just hours after the death of his son, John. Tony was born in South Boston, MA and graduated from Brighton High as a diesel engine mechanic by trade. Tony was a 'jack of all trades' who was eager to offer a helping hand. He will be remembered for his friendliness, his humor, his stories, and mechanical skills. He was a man of strength, energy, spirit and faith. He loved polka music and was an exceptional dancer. A native of South Boston, he began working as a truck mechanic on the waterfront and worked various waterfront jobs including lobster fisherman, longshoreman, and seaman. He had five Harley Davidsons which he enjoyed. He traveled to Jamaica and the Cayman Islands several times to help his brother, Fr. Francis Jackmauh with needed repairs on churches he served. His favorite work was gunite construction where he worked for Northeast Gunite for 10 years. He moved to Hartford, CT in 1958 to marry Regina and to raise a family. He became a member of Teamsters Local 671 and drove tankers for Coca Cola, then worked for several area union trucking companies, retiring at 65. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, The Knights of Lithuania, and The East Windsor Sportsman's Club. He was a devoted member of St. Philip's Church for 50 years where he used his many mechanical talents to maintain the church throughout the years. He and Regina received the St. Joseph Archdiocesan Medal of Appreciation in 2008. He enjoyed cribbage, bingo and 'the numbers and the dogs'.
